Sales reps often get inquiries from customers on the status of the order. While they can search quotes, this doesn't always guarantee the correct order(s) will be found. The rep could always transfer their customer down to the order management or shipping department. But with a few power configurations, sales users can look up the order themselves.

Link Calls Order Status Search page
Rep can search by order number, customer name, PO, or quote number.
View Order, Delivery, and Invoice Details
From search results, desired order information can be viewed in detail.
